The Shelby County Public Library is accepting book donations during the week of April 6 - 11, 2026. Call ahead if you need assistance unloading your donation.
The Shelby County Public Library is
accepting book donations on the following
dates:
April 6 - 11, 2026
July 20 - 25, 2026
October 5 - 10, 2026
Donations will not be accepted at other
times of year.
The library retains the right to determine
where donated items will be utilized.
The library limits donations based on
condition and age.
*Local & Family History materials are always
accepted by our Genealogy Dept.
Items that will not be accepted are:
• Encyclopedias, technical books, textbooks,
or travel guides
• Magazines
• Newspapers
• Nonfiction older than 5 years
• Periodicals
• Reader’s Digest condensed books
• Technology and medical books
• VHS tapes
• Illegal copies of materials
Any materials donated to the library
legally and physically become the
permanent property of the library.
The library will not appraise donated
books for tax purposes.

The Velma Wortman Branch serves the town of Morristown and surrounding community. Featuring a bank vault that now serves as a Seed Library, the branch offers a variety of programs and services for all ages to enjoy.
